3 PRINTER PROBLEMS YOU CAN FIX

  • Post category:Latest News

Nothing is more frustrating than a printer that refuses to work. While beating your equipment may be what you want to do, it is probably the least effective. There are some easy fixes that will get your printer running normally again.

1. PRINTING IS TOO SLOW
If your print speeds are lower than expected or are not meeting printer specifications, you may need to try a reset. To reset the printer, disconnect it while it is still on. Wait at least 60 seconds before turning the printer back on. After you turn the printer back on and it has warmed up try printing a document. If the issue persists, check the printer driver settings. You can find this under preferences. For quicker printing speeds, change your print quality to draft.

2. POOR PRINTING QUALITY
The first step in correcting this issue is to use manufacturer approved cartridges. While any cartridge will work in your printer, using the same manufacturer will ensure that your quality is not compromised. Next, you can check your printer settings where you can adjust print quality and color options.

3. PAPER JAMS
When trying to fix a paper jam, always try to remove the jammed paper very carefully. To remove the paper, turn the printer off and remove duplexer. If the document tears while you are removing it make sure to get all small pieces out of rollers and wheels. If you are in the process of purchasing a new printer, take a look at the paper tray. If it seems flimsy, it may causes problems in the future.

If you can’t seem to get your printer working normally, it’s best to call a service professional. You don’t want to be messing with your printer only to find that you have permanently damaged it. For questions about printers and printer repairs, call us today!
